Answer: No, all board members volunteer their time.

3. How is the Bayshore Road District funded?
Answer: The Bayshore Road District is funded through property taxes.

4. How does the Bayshore Road District board determine what needs to be done to the roads in Bayshore?
Answer: The Bayshore Road District does not, in itself, get involved in the design of our roads. Our role is to handle the maintenance of our roads. The first thing that generally occurs is that a resident or residents point out a potential safety concern. We, the board, then contact a proressional to assess the safety concern. The professionals we work with are a federally licensed traffic engineering firm that works directly with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) in Washington, D.C. The FHWA’s laws direct these engineers (and all state, county, and city engineers) on what is the proper way to design a particular road. This engineering firm provides the board a recommendation or recommendations on how to correct or address particular safety concerns. Then our board hires contractors to carry out the engineering firm’s recommendations.
